Chief Operations Officer
On September 8, 2020, Pam Chambers began her employment at Kansas Heart Hospital as its Chief Operating Officer (“COO”). Pam graduated from Friends University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Services. From 1992 until 2001 she served as a nursing home administrator in Great Bend, Kansas. She was selected to be the first administrator of the Surgical and Diagnostic Center of Great Bend, a position she held from 2001 through 2009. In 2009 she coordinated the transition of the Surgical and Diagnostic Center of Great Bend to a full service, 24 x 7, acute care facility. The transition required adding new services to meet state and federal requirements. In particular, the areas of radiology, lab, pharmacy, a new emergency room, obstetrical services, an upgraded ICU and respiratory therapy were extensively upgraded and developed. Pam served as its first Chief Operating Officer of the Great Bend Regional Hospital from 2009 until 2014. Prior to joining the executive team at KHH, she served as head of school director for the Wichita Friends School located in west Wichita from 2016 to 2020. She and husband, Doug, reside in Kechi, Kansas.
