Angie Urenda – Radiology Tech
Posted In: Employees Out & About
Angie Urenda began working at KHH on September 4th, 2001 in the radiology department as a radiology tech. She received her x-ray training at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City in 1971. A native of Moberly, Missouri, Angie and her husband, Dan, have volunteered their personal services to a number of charitable organizations over the years. Most recently, they signed-up for the Meals On Wheels program under the auspices of Senior Services, Inc. of Wichita. Their church rotates with several other churches to provide weekend meals to “shut-ins” who are unable to obtain food for themselves on Saturdays and Sundays. When asked what have been her initial impressions, Angie stated, “Helping with this organization to provide food for others in need really opens your eyes to poverty in the city of Wichita. We’re all called to help those in need…”
Additionally, Dan and Angie volunteer at The Lord’s Diner which is currently serving approximately 500 meals per day in Wichita to those in need.
Lastly, they both volunteer at Filling the Gap Lunches for Children which provides meals to USD #259 children during spring break and Christmas vacation as well as during times when children are not formally in class. This ministry is supported by Partners for Wichita at 8-12 different citywide sites providing needy children wholesome lunches.
