Kansas Heart Hospital provides comprehensive and advanced treatments for heart and vascular disease. Heart catheterization procedures exceed 2,500 cases per year and include coronary artery stents; cardiologists implant pacemakers and defibrillators. Open heart surgeries have averaged greater than 350-375 cases per year over the past ten years. Kansas Heart Hospital surgeons perform over 100 aortic valve surgeries per year and also primary lung surgeries. The vascular surgical team pioneered endovascular stenting for abdominal aortic aneurysms and routinely performs carotid artery surgery, carotid artery stenting as well as peripheral vascular surgery and peripheral vascular stent procedures.
Kansas Heart Hospital has three fully equipped heart catheterization laboratories, a dedicated electrophysiology lab included in one of the heart catheterization laboratories, an interventional suite and three operating rooms. Diagnostic radiology equipment, TEE (transesophageal echocardiography), standard echocardiography and a CT scanner are on site.
